Here are some photos I took at the Crich Tramway Museum. It is quite a distance from Holmfirth but well worth a visit if you can get there. Enter Crich Tramway Museum into your search engine and there is much more to see. The tram in my first picture I believe was the one used in The First of the Summer Wine. I do know that the scene was shot there.

Evening all. We used to visit every year with our vw camper to join hundreds of other vw owners for a rally. We all parked along the tramlines and then every hour we'd have a parade of vehicles driving around the site tooting our horns and waving at the visitors. All good fun. Worth a visit to have a tram ride, look around the museum and visit the period pub. They don't have it now but they still have vintage/wartime vehicle rally.15871932_1831484050443743_2424607533954755215_n.jpg15826312_1831484150443733_840231447241737894_n.jpg15823025_1831483897110425_4220986712145454444_n.jpg

I spent an afternoon there as part of a Derbyshire Industrial Heritage tour based at the HF Holidays Peveril of the Peak house in Thorpe. It was relaxing, as well as photogenic.

Was that museum where the tram scenes in First of the Summer Wine were filmed?

Yes, the tram scenes were shot there, Marianna. We have been there a couple of times. It was £10 entrance fee and a penny to ride on the tram. It was like going back in time and we thoroughly enjoyed it. :42:
Don't know how much it is to get in these days.

WOW, just checked the entrance fee and it is now £17.50. If you are over 60 it is £14. I think that is a bit too much. :eek2:
