Elegy for Fallen Wellies

Well, here in the States on Maryland Public Television (MPT), they recently aired this episode. It's been 17 years yet it's still hard to watch. It's amazing that the cast and crew were actually able to get through the filming of this episode. And then there was Roy Clarke's wonderful script with pathos, sadness, and many other concerns -- ferrets, arrangements and not to mention, Howard's peccadilloes. And then there are the next two episodes which are equally hard to watch. But to lighten things up a touch, there is a surprise. Barry doesn't have to worry about finding someone to care for the ferrets. All in all, these three episodes were a surprise in themselves. A way to mark the passing of a great actor in a most gentle and sensitive fashion.
