I was watching Britbox tonight, and after an episode of Father Ted and Dr Who., I switched to LOSW. I was watching the episode where they are in the cloak room playing Cards. What exactly is the game that Compo mentions? Is it like WAR where the high suite automatically wins?

I think it was just called Trumps, you picked a suite ie spades and a 2 of spades could beat and ace of diamonds as spades were the trump card, Compo said Gherkins are Trumps, because they was possible remains of Gherkins on the playing cards after he had eaten

I had wondered about this too the first time I saw the scene. Then figured they must have meant bits of food stuck to the cards. Like those with bits of lettuce were wildcards.
