    I think he was brilliant. He (John) got his character so spot on. The nuances perfected. Absolutely top tier actor. Strangely I was watching him the other day in Serenade For.... episode and realised how excellent he was. Truly missed.

    For me it is Car and Garter where he is the one convinced to attempt the latest crazy stunt which Compo initially avoids, and ultimately does (it appearss Sid has more bravery to try the racing rather than face Ivy - a wise decision)...

    Well, not matter what episode it is, I always like to go into the Cafe and see Sid. He is one of my favourite characters.
