Thankyou to the administrators for accepting me onto this site and hi everyone,I visited the White Horse recently and inside it hasn’t changed apart from the decor and a coat of paint instead of the wallpaper. This table in the photograph I’v noticed is the most sat on table through most of the series,I was watching Barry’s Christmas today and when they found him under the table they all sat here,it was great to sit there and have a pint and think about them and the scenes that were filmed there

Hi Douglas, great picture and a warm welcome to the site and the many barmpots that lurk here

Thank you for posting, so nice to see a traditional pub which is a rarity these days. Many seem to be converted into Indian Restaurants, Gastropubs or Theme pubs sadly....
Very true Barry, the ones that are left are often more like restaurants than old fashioned pubs that we used to have,I went in the Butchers Arms and most of the scenes featuring that pub are filmed outside,it’s not often they filmed scenes inside, and I don’t know if when they did they really filmed in the pub like the White Horse,or if it was a set,but I watched Whoops the other day when they were inside and it was like a snug,an old fashioned drinkers pub,but now it’s just like a restaurant with nothing but tables with cutlery,if you went in for a pint you would have to sit at a table with it laid out for a meal,I’ll take a photo the next time I go in,another pub they’ve done the same to is the Algy arms where the trio called with a mangle in Three men and a mangle,it’s now called the Boshaw Trout and is unrecognisable as the drinkers pub it was,I pass that quite a bit and will take a photo of that too next time, thankyou to everyone for the likes and comments.

Thanks Brian and Graham, yes the food was lovely but I didn't know about the rear garden, thankyou I'll take a look next time, yes it's great visiting the locations and remembering some of the scenes isn't it,and this is such a great place to share them and enjoy other peoples experiences.

Good Day and Welcome to you Douglas. The first thing that I am wondering about is, is it alright for us to call you 'Chuffer' ? In the episode 'Whoops' I was quite aware of the likeness between Mrs. Enwright and Maggie Thatchero_O. How is the knee these days? Look forward to more of your interesting postings. Peri. :17:

Thankyou so much Perpheral, please do call me Chuffer, you are absolutely right about the resemblance to Margaret Thatcher though,I thought that too,I loved when she opened the door to Compo and said "Who's Chuffer when he's at home ?" and then said Theres a tramp at the door get rid of him the knee is still giving me jip, theres still a nobbly bit on the side, but the question is,does everyone have that nobbly bit ?

I've checked my knees Chuffer and they do appear to be nobless. However, I do remember having my knees denoblified in July of 1911 two days before my 21st birthday. These days I am so old and bent that walking is totally out of the question so my wife has to wheel me as we did with the hoop and stick. Does anyone else remember the 'hoop and stick'?

Yes I remember the hoop and stick, and the spinning top and all the other old games we used to play when times were simpler and happier,I actually do have a nobly bit on the outside of my right knee but then unlike you I haven’t been denobified,,I wonder how many people actually checked, thanks for the reply Peripheral

Lovely photo’s and glad you had a great visit. When we last visited ( just before it temporarily closed?) it was a bit depressing as it looked a bit run down and we were the only ones in.
