Yes, there was a rail station just to the left and down a slope. Now there's a car park for the Trans Pennine Trail, and a bus stop with service to Holmfirth, Chapeltown, and other destinations. When the rail line ceased service, the Stanhope fell into a decline, but with the owners having gradually begun to offer tent platforms, parking and hook-ups for campers, and B&B rooms, it seems to be reviving at a sustainable rate.

I've been monitoring progress and hoping to lodge there for a few nights if I'm ever fit enough to travel again.

It is similar John, but that place is in Holmbrige Near Holmfirth

Talking of pubs, it's great to the see the bus will be running on the Mid Summer Wine day and for the first time stopping off at The White Horse for a pint and photos! A great addition for any thirsty fans, I'll naturally be partaking

Sorry Rick its not that is the Grapes , that episode with Eddie and that question is brilliant as are all of them . As no one seems to have taken up the challenge it appears in the Dark Wives episode of Vera as it is the last episode I believe as a tribute to Vera they named the pub after her . The only pic I could find below.
