It's been said before but as series progressed the "shouty" era disappeared which I feel was a great improvement as I personally found it really disturbing and annoying a gentle comedy is no place for balling and shouting if I wanted...
I think the Blamire episodes always had a bit of grunge to them which I liked, A touch of pessimism. I think Getting Sam home had the same type of feel too. Bleak humor was more abundant.

Norm was mostly a one note character but George Wendt imbued him with such warmth that you could really enjoy his performance. Frasier is a very watchable show with many excellent moments and has some great build up from his Cheers...
