    cleggy's trophies

In episodes in some of the later series where scenes are shot in front of the fireplace I have noticed a number of tropies on the fire surround and in a cabinet to its left...I laughed, they couldn't be for sporting prowess I think...but maybe one is for tiddlywinks and another for holding coats...

Anyone know how Peter Sallis is doing?

I totally agree minxie, on the same wavelength..norman had a disadvantaged upbringing and I think it affected him enormously for better and for worse....it allowed him to singularly push ahead into a film career, but as time went on and he got older and took small parts in summer wine and plays...

    Shop Question

yes compo, as chuck says, streetview is a good option...there are a few "proper" old fashioned, welcoming pubs to the left and right of the café square as you look at it from the webcam.

    Toys.( Part 3,)

did any of you older guys like me make their own "soap carts, or trolleys " we used to call them "bogeys" in leeds but I think that was named after the railway trucks, not the snotty meaning.....old pram wheels with a wooden frame board affixed and steered with a cord attatched to the front...

    Holmfirth

    The Coming of the Beast

yes codfanglers, the series ran for so long that each "era", so to speak` had its own qualities. I've loved to see the evolution of the programme and the way it adapted to changes in society :)

    Wesleys' music

well bwingate and Brenda I have to agree that Wesley always made me laugh, one of my favourite characters and the rawness of his broken down vehicles and his tatty shed and his enjoyment/satisfaction with his lot has always left me warm ;D ;D ;D ;D

    railways

yes Holmfirth and lotsw only mentioned in passing really, but got to thinking about great british railway journeys on mainline....the settle to Carlisle is fantastic but one of my favourites is the machynnleth to barmouth in west wales.....what a beautiful hours journey fot about 7 pounds...what...

    Wesleys' music

well Brenda looked and listened and it just seems to be noise, cant make anything of it, might well be Ronnie Hazlehurst, I think it wouldn't be difficult to do...by the way you said "range rover"...Wesley would have been horrified, definitely a utilitarian "landrover man" :D
