Don't know what went wrong with the words at the top of the post, the first photo is an extra one just for Amos of his favourite character, and the quote at the top is what he is saying at the time :
"You get up in the morning, and you never think that before the day is out, you're gonna own a Mrs Broadbent"
I'v got lots more to post when I get time, all then and now photos,in the town and the countryside,

Thank you for the photos Pete really good and very much appreciated . Is the warning rope fence a recent addition ? Hopefully not installed because someone has injured themselves getting too close to the edge.

Hi captain,thankyou.
I wondered about that safety chain as well,it goes along for quite a way with warning signs saying warning steep drop,it wasn't there last time I went there,I wondered too if there had been an accident but I'v never heard anything,to get to those rocks where Clegg is stood I would normally go down the hill where the chain is,but I couldn't do that so the only way I could get to them was to walk all the way around to the opposite side,at the waters edge, and then climb up to them,it was worth it though,I sat on that rock right where Foggy Compo and Clegg were and had a cuppa.

I always enjoy going along this track Pete, did you spot Geoff Helliwells house on the way back into Marsden, which is in Binn Road a little before the roundabout

We're not the only ones that enjoy that walk Terry, although you wouldn't think it looking at the photos there were quite a few walking along on sunday afternoon.
I had no idea at all about that house, where exactly is it and what does it look like,I always get these two mixed up,although I can clearly recall the actors faces (one was Henry McGhee from Benny Hill and the other I forget his name but I'v seen him in other comedies) I can never remember if he was the one who wanted a decent burial for the ferret,or the one who insisted he was going to die on Tuesday,
Once I know which one it is I would be able to recognise the house next time I go,but I had no idea it was there, thankyou,
Pete.

Henry McGhee was the Goff going to die Tuesday , there was Goatee Helliwell[Anthony Parker] in an episode where Compo challenges him to race/climb tree after blackmailing him about a liaison with Marina. The episode with the Ferret is actor Peter Baldwin from Corrie who was old Heponstall.

That's it captain !!!
I remembered McGhee was the Tuesday character, and the other actor I knew was the ferrets burial episode,I couldn't for the life of me remember where I'd seen him but its all come flooding back now,I can clearly remember him with Mavis in Coronation street, was it Derek ?
So is the house Terry is referring to the one in which he insists on dying Tuesday ?
If so I can remember the house very well, just didn't know it was there,I must have walked past it several times and not recognised it,
would you pass it walking up Binn road up to Butterly res Terry ?

Watching the Goff episode now and it throws up one of the biggest contradictory continuity issues , also seen in the Secret Birthday of Norman Clegg . In the Goff episode they bump into Howard who is carrying his ladder which is bent and he is trying to find someone to straighten . The meeting takes place at the same Bus Stop where Cleggy/Truly wait to catch the bus to go for the special birthday lunch until the gang turn up in their suits . There is a street sign behind them showing Donaldson Street

It implies they have left the house and walked up the lane to the stop well they must be fit for their age . On the LOTSW main site map the stop is at the junction of Ford St and Dobb Lane in Holmbridge[unless the map is wrong] but Cleggy's and Howard's houses are in Hill Street off Scholes Road which is over 3 miles away . Howard is not only fit but how strong is he to be able to carry a ladder three miles!
