Cool or Hot

If correct the temp in the UK is set to hit low 30's C soon, are you a person who prefers it cool or much happier when it's hot, as I am over 21c in age I do prefer it cooler and maybe it is just an age thing, I recall the summer of 76, and that was pretty warm for some time, yet it did not bother me
Or is it the fact that we can be nice and cool and then bam, for a few days we hit the 30's +, then it cools off again, no gradual warm up to get acclimatized, which I am pretty sure is what happened in the 60's and 70's

The maximum temperature ever recorded where I live in the Scottish Borders was 32.3c but the usual summer max is more like 25c which is about right for me. My age is 15c.

Not a big lover of Scorching hot days, those when you can fry an egg on the flags but if it keeps warm into the evenings, its quite pleasant to sit out with a G&T and watch the sunset. A nice 20c in years for me.

Unless the ambient temp is higher than about 80F (26.7C) I feel chilly, with my feet, nose and ears like blocks of ice. Despite my climate preferences for the sake of comfort, I'm happiest when the temp is in a range that doesn't require the heat pump to operate. I'd rather that the electricity produced by the solar panels went out to the electrical grid to give me generous credit for the next winter's heat demands.

Happy in either, we Geordies are hardy folks and adapt to the changes in temperature by adjusting our clothing . Capped sleeve t shirts or singlets in spring/summer and standard short sleeved t shirts in autumn/winter , shorts all year round except for christenings/weddings/funerals then its definitely best suits , once you've retrieved it from the Pawnbrokers of course . If you can't afford it , then you do the best you can but make sure you turn up at the last minute and stand at the back so you can make a quick escape from the Church or Crematorium . It's not just so you wont be seen in your black t shirt and shorts but also to make sure you are first to the buffet/reception/wake , armed with the standard excuse that sorry I had to go to work , missed the ceremony and didn't have time to change. :)

My flat is just above what they call the "plant "room. The room where all the electricity and tv services enter the building .They 've got storage heating in that room as well ! Simple physics says heat rises so consequentially I only require extra heat on about 2/3 days .through out the year . I pay a fixed amount for services (hot water etc) but get into bother for wedging doors and/or windows open. They insulated the block against winter but on a sunny day 8 out of every 10 windows are wide open. There are are plans to adjust the heating problems but we are not holding our breath.o_O:confused2:
