Reading a letter my wife received regarding a hospital appointment, I noticed that patients requiring transport can call certain numbers depending on where their GP is based, if the patient is based in Nottinghamshire or Derbyshire they can call a 0330 number, which if called from a mobile/landline with a inclusive minute package it cost them no extra, for Lincolnshire it is a 0843 number which is 7p a minute from a landline or up to 70p per minute from a mobile
Some of my neighbours have to call this service for transport and say the call is often placed on a queue and can take 10 to 15 minutes to complete, I have discovered it is the same service being called in all cases, so why in some areas is this extra cost burden added
