Not sure if I phrased that right I meant to ask how episodes of all the comedies he wrote are there. But on comedy series you're spot one but that doesn't include the one off Young Hyacinth.Very good question I'd guess 10 ? (no Googles used!)
I think that was the BBC programme she did recently and I think it’s still on the iPlayer if UK viewers want to see it.Some of you are pretty close. Taking into consideration only the comedies 501 is the number of episodes.
This started because I saw an interview with Patricia Routledge about Keeping up Appearances and she said she ended after the last series because 1, she liked Ronnie Barker's idea of finishing on top and 2 she thought the writer had started to recycle some episodes. It was a lovely interview but it was on Tictoc so I'm not sure how to share it here.
Didn't know that, I'll have a look hopefully theres more to the interview.I think that was the BBC programme she did recently and I think it’s still on the iPlayer if UK viewers want to see it.
Sorry, I've just checked they must have taken it down in the past few weeksDidn't know that, I'll have a look hopefully theres more to the interview.
I've heard several contradictory reasons she's given in previous interviews to why she quit KUA. She is an amazingly talented actress, so I'll be charitable - she does have a reputation for being a little 'artistic' sometimes. Consequently I'm never sure the reasons she gives actually accurate..If you have written 500 plus comedies then it is surely inevitable that ideas for plots are recycled and most certainly phrases and references will be repeated in the same show and others written by the same author. Our humble thread of A-Z of Summer wine will have duplicates for sure.
I seem to recall she was incredibly uncomplimentary about the prequel episode to KUA.I've heard several contradictory reasons she's given in previous interviews to why she quit KUA. She was, and Roy Clarke I recall at the time said Patricia was being more like Hyacinth with the comments so he had the last word!I seem to recall she was incredibly uncomplimentary about the prequel episode to KUA.
I didn't think there was any need for that.
