I've no idea but as a kid i used to Make Balsa Wood Gliders

I remember polystyrene Gliders. Used to buy them at the little shop near my Grans . Used to be in red and yellow packaging with a picture of the plane on it

I remember buying them too, from what I recall they were so brittle that half the time they were damaged in the packet and never flew!
