The river Boyne, Trim, Co. Meath
Your photo sent me to Google Maps to take a closer look at the photos of the river. Does it ever overflow? If so, how much damage does it cause? I live in a river valley, and since June 23, 1972, all of us old-timers have kept a close eye on the water level whenever it rains heavily, half expecting another disastrous flood.

I've lived here for over thirty years and never seen any damage or serious flooding. I've heard older people talking about a bad flood back in the 60's where the water came up nearly to the top of the bridge arches. I live about five minutes walk away but about 10 yards higher than the bridge.416030572_833581061902283_8911879137272637192_n.jpg

I took this photo from the Old Bridge, during a period of drought about six years ago. This is the lowest I've ever seen the river.Screenshot 2024-03-06 11.02.33 AM.png
