Old Bridge Question?

A bit ago we were in Holmfirth for a week, and tried to
go to the Old Bridge hotel for a pint. The entire front space,
parking lot and all, was kinda torn up and being paved over,
mostly to the exclusion of automobiles -- as in No Parking.

We did barely get inside, and a fair bit of the bar area had
been taken over by coffee serving mechanisms and all.

Is the Old Bridge changing its venue? We used to enjoy a meal
there, and the odd pint. Not likely to be able to do that now.

What's happening???

I did hear recently it is being refurbished and it will be food only,no more rooms,I will have a look next week as I plan a trip over

Guess west Yorkshire is changing, and not for the better.

The Old Bridge used to be a nice pub for a pint and a bar meal.
Now it's getting swank.

Then there's also Brambles. Not really a pub, just a wine
bar that also serves a pint. Really sterile inside.

Let's hope that The Nook stays as it is for a while.

Their web site has changed since the last time I looked. The top line says "Inn and Coffee House". I don't recall the coffee house part of it having been there before. They still have substantial-looking meals on the menu, though. Although the web site doesn't mention rooms up front, when I went to "check availability" I found rooms available to reserve, but no photos.

It'll be interesting to hear about what you see when you're in town.
