Can anyone identify the episode where Clegg says something like -
"........then my wife died. I've always considered that a sort of criticism"

well i could be wrong and sure iwill be corrected, but ....one summer morn or thereabouts.....springs to mind, an early episode with blamire where they have gone inside for a cuppa after sorting out camping stuff outside cleggy's house and they are discussing cleggs wife, looking at the wedding photo and compo says...she were always ugly then ...and clegg says....aye....but i think he mentioned her death less eloquently callin her a ...silly bitch....unthinkable in later episodes.... :)

oh and by the way, surely in the wrong section, but we saw cleggys house in that episode, does anyone know where it is and was it ever used again.

Wasn´t that in an episode well into the first Foggy era? I think he said that in that marathon episode, Woollen Mills of your Mind? I´m not sure at all.
