Article in today's Herald - "Scottish SPCA volunteers have been besieged by an epidemic of homeless ferrets". Appeal launched for owners to come forward and give the 35 rescued to date a loving home. Not wild animals apparently. "They're domesticated pets that cannot survive outside on their own. Many enjoy being handled and some even like being taaken for short walks on a harness like a very small dog."
