i think it was MacFairson, but i doubt its spelt like that but that what it sounds like, then again thats without watching the episode just remembering it from memory

It was Josie, she came from Linley Street and they met by playing a game of chess in "Cheering Up Gordon"

If your on about the series 2 libarians there names were Miss Probert and Miss Jones. the series 1 assistant with Mr Wainwright was called Mrs Partridge, the series 3 assistant was called Miss Moody and of course Josephine Tewsons Character in the later series was Miss Davenport, there was an episode from series 13 where Foggy asks for books on silent killing, although the libarian isn't given a name then the women that played her was actually Brian Wilde's wife.

Yes, twas Probert and Jones I meant. Didn't know about Wilde's wife though. Funny.
