My name is Eleanor and I'm from Springfield, Virginia which is right outside of Washington, DC. An interesting note is that a neighborhood near my house is called King's Park and, you guessed it, streets have such interesting names as Southampton, Thames, etc. I am currently retired and have lots of time to puruse Last of the Summer Wine which is carried on two local PBS (commercial-free, high brow) stations. My brother-in-law, the plumber, constantly recites the information about when the show started and how long it was on, etc. 1973 doesn't really seem to be that long ago except when I stop and recall that that was the middle of my college years and Nixon was in office.
