In the past I have seen pedantic references to the show as containing "theft, bad language, racism, mild molestation...." but Mary Whitehouse would see that in songs of praise!!!

Aside from Compo chasing Nora , the majority of the Sexual References come from Howard and Marina I imagine. In which case there should be a warning included for violent content which usually ensues when Pearl catches Howard .

Most of the DVD sets of LOTSW here are PG rated. (From memory a couple of the earlier ones were M rated.)
Over here PG (Parental guidance) is pretty much the norm for harmless stuff. ("Parental guidance is recommended for younger viewers", is the usual voice over warning)
The next one "down" is G, which is basically kindergarten stuff, so PG is the catch all rating and is treated basically the same as "G".
"M" (mature) starts to get the more mature stuff, whereas "MA" (Mature adult) says it isn't suitable for under 15's.
"R" is restricted to 18 and over and is not generally broadcast on "normal" TV and is relatively rare even on cable TV. This is usually the most realistically "scary", "bloody", "violent" end of the market and includes soft porn. It is not the kiss of death to a movie to be "R" rated here and some big blockbusters have received the rating without problem.
"X" rated is technically illegal here and generally relates to hard core porn.

I stand corrected! I have every set of LOTSW and FOTSW (Australian version) and they ALL (bar1) are rated PG. The exception is the second series of FOTSW which is rated "G" ( I just went and checked!

To give a comparison, "The Two Ronnies" are rated PG, but "Hale and Pace" are rated "M"
Jonathan Creek and Blackadder are also rated "M" but things like the TV series "Spartacus" and "Rome" are rated "R"

Molestation? Really? Pleeeeease don't get me started on that!!! Feminism gone mad! It amuses me that there's a parental warning before Judge Judy! I guess it's bad for children to see her telling idiots, selfish people and liers off, god forbid kids should be told what's right and wrong.

More baffling for me is that some of the laters years releases got '12' ratings in the UK. I do wish they'd release over here either the 25/30 years tribute piece!
