In my year teaching English in Shanghai I tried doing research on the show for an intended lesson but was blocked for 'subversive content likely to corrupt morals.' Entwistle had only just entered the show the year before.

With all the worries about social media and smartphones, i wonder if parents miss the days when “online contact” was just whatever was on the telly. Imagine if the biggest influence before bedtime was something gentle like LOTSW.

It was Playtime for all of us when the show came along and it has remained playtime pretty much everyday since, watching at least one episode per day.
