We would ride miles to get to a good tree. I walk past trees with hundreds of big beautiful conkers on the floor and I think back to those times knowing that we would have scooped up the lot. We need to get the kids conkering again. Then we can bring back clackers!!

Absolutely persisting it down here all day in Cheshire and very windy. It’s supposed to be dry again next week week for a fair while. Last weekend we culminated a week in North Yorkshire (in the campervan ) at Bedale and the weather was fantastic.

I don’t miss our old set from the ‘70’s. The picture used to go fuzzy and to solve this we had to thump in the top a few times and it would make a fizzing noise and then two loud bangs and it was then ok. The funny thing is we thought that this was normal :)

I had a go but found it hurt my brain so I’ve gone for just shouting out characters names a la TV Stars by the Skids :) Eddie’s Tammy, Stanley’s Chamois!!

I wonder if they could still show the old Tom &Jerry cartoons?:)

Great little campsite there too. So quiet.

You can cook them in a normal oven, just stand the pudding in its pot in a shallow dish of water and cover with tin foil. Mmm baby’s head with chips n gravy!!

There’s a good edition of Time Team who did a dig there and at nearby Dent.

I really enjoy the Henry Cole shows. He’s an interesting character.
