Summer Wine theme tune!

I think it was a great idea and looked to be working well. From what I have read it was due to someone briefly taking over the comedy department that made a decision (not to commission another series) that was contradictory to her predecessors. A very unfortunate twist of fate to say the least.

I am sure this isn't news to a Barmpot but I read this in Alan Bell's book. It is a fantastic read with a lot of insight into how the series were made and behind the scenes photos. Highly ecommended.

With all the worries about social media and smartphones, i wonder if parents miss the days when “online contact” was just whatever was on the telly. Imagine if the biggest influence before bedtime was something gentle like LOTSW.

Given what a star he is, is a statement to the success of LOTSW. Does anyone know why his shows aren't repeated. Does he hold the rights and doesn't allow it?
