I don't know if you still need a platform ticket in a UK railway station anymore. You did have to pay at one time to go onto the platform, even if you didn't actually go on a train.

Most of the supermarket toilets in our town did stay open during lockdown. In one, we were only allowed in with permission, and an attendant to clean them afterwards.
In Lincoln just after lockdown, none of the publics loos were open and the bigger stores loos were also closed, so they lost a lot of business as no loos were available during your shopping trip
