I've been there only in summer. Wouldn't attempt a winter visit. My maternal grandfather grew up in the southern foothills of that mountain range. We visited "up home" the second Sunday in August each year for the family reunion, but...

It's not in FotSW... I have 'shazammed' every episode!

I doubt that Ohio winters were much different from south central NY. You want different, you need to head up into the Adirondacks.

That was something else, played very badly.

Oh, you're so young, and probably urban! When I was growing up on a farm in south central upstate New York from 1944-1965, laundry was always hung out unless it was raining stair rods. In winter it "freeze-dried", and required some...

Compo’s chippy was still great the last time we visited. No regular mobile chippies here in Cheshire but our local club sometimes hires one for outdoor catering when they have a do on. There’s plenty of them at the VW shows we go to...

So so sorry to hear of your mobility issues Marianna but keep pushing on I am sure you will. I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my knee last year I was sent [surprisingly to me] on a 2 day x 6 week exercise class at a Gym centered...

We had one in the mid-to-late-1970s. I only vaguely remember when as I know we we moved in or a bit before 1973. It was nothing like Aunties shop van, just an ordinary Bedford panel van, I guess it had a side door - but I do remember...

I remember staying in a house near St Just in Cornwall in the early 70's, it belonged to one of my wife's Aunt and Uncle, it certainly was an experience, overnight they still did mine blasting which shook the house, a nearby lighthouse...

Oh! What a disappointment - it's wasn't "a hilarious name" ... but it does have the following wording on the side of the driver's cab: "Fish & Chip Saloon". 'Saloon'? That's not the first word I'd associate with a chippy - and - the van...
