I cannot see the problem, I would of thought if he was not important then they would of airbrushed him out

Who is the man in the shades, partly visible at the back, third from the left? Looks like an attempt at a photobomb.

The old Colour TV sets would burn through the electric, then even worse the Plasma TV, you could stand in front of those with bread on a toasting fork

I recall the TV top antenna that would you stand there adjusting to picture perfect, but by the time you sat down the screen had turned to mush again

Like most folk around us members born in the 50's I do recall the same sets as mentioned as technology progressed, I believe most of the sets were rented, I do recall passing a shop in Bedford where they displayed some of the first...

Our first TV, ~1951, was a big square box with just a few knobs. Connected to an antenna on the roof. We lived in a rather narrow valley so picked up only one channel, WSYR out of Syracuse NY. The program selection was quite tame...

The first tv set I remember at home (mid-1960s) had two big knobs at the side just above the speaker grille. You manually tuned the channel to change programmes. '4' on the dial was BBC1, '8' was ITV (Midlands). That was easy to...

You can see it especially on Peter's face how difficult it was but I think adding humor was the right thing to do, I know especially " up North " humor is a big part of funerals, it's how the grief is dealt with.

IF you search the threads , there are still members on here who cannot bring themselves to watch those episodes because they are so emotional which is testimony to the compassionate way Roy Clarke handled Bill's passing, the episodes...

Thank you to everyone who took the time to reply, I have always looked at Summer Wine as a distraction from "edgy" comedy shows, I am not a prude, but, I enjoyed the gentle and silly humour, I realise no actor should ever be bigger than...

With Bill's determination and love of Holmfirth he ensured his contribution spanned 3 episodes and an hour long special with this possibility probably foremost in his mind. His stoicism ensured another 11 years of laughter for us...

A guy who was on here and no longer posts Pete went there and posted photos he simply knocked on the doors and explained why he was there and the residents the time were happy to oblige because he did it discreetly, respectfully and...

Wasn't Norah given more of a role on the show due to how popular she was? Thought I heard that somewhere after the pilot test. I agree with you Amos, would have been nice to of seen Chip, Connie and crew return. Margaret Nolan...

I have often thought this - Chip and Connie could have visited at anytime. In those days I don't think they surveyed audiences like they do now to gauge reactions and if a character is worth keeping in a show - so there wasn't anything...
