Clearly from the age of Net Curtains, I can imagine with all the fat in the air they would need to be washed regularly. Interestingly in the show and now [I think] there are an array of Curtains covering half the window for privacy but...

It was probably Mrs Beall that insisted on having net curtains. ;)

If you look closely you can see the initials L.Y.R. on the front of the lorry. Could that be Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway?
