Hang on. This is the pilot episode, isn't it? If so, the location filming would have been done first, and the interior studio scenes done later. So, I think either 1) The casting of Mrs Partridge hadn't fully been decided yet for...

I suspect that as she didn't have to speak it wasn't worth having her on location, it's probably one of the crew.

Is it me or do you think that this does not look like Mrs Partridge/Rosemary Martin in this scene from the pilot. If you watch the video it looks even less like her. I had never noticed this before.

Compo had a varied background. It was entirely plausible that his offspring would move away while still exhibiting his characteristics, generally bone idle. It would just have made more sense for Tom et al to arrive for one series...

I stopped video editing to watch the first episode properly; on the sofa with a cuppa. I think that episode gets better with every viewing.

A DVD I did find a while ago and I enjoyed it was Brenda Blethyn (Vera) in a comedy called Kate and Koji, though not that old had some good moments

Thank you Leigh for producing a fascinating insight into these "forgotten turkeys" I definitely recall vaguely the two John Inman shows and everything you stated rings true . You do wonder why, when still basking in the glory of AYBS...

Thanks @captain clutterbuck ... It might have been to avoid typecasting, but I suppose he didn't have any input on the script - and Vince Powell does seem to have written some less than successful shows. Trouble is, now you know about...

At the moment K&K is a bit too recent to be forgotten, despite me forgetting about it!

Sadly I have both the Inman DVD's, I found them just about watchable and compared to so called modern day comedy, it is nice to see some long forgotten actors earning enough to pay the rent

Thanks @Barrychuckle - the first "Forgotten Sitcoms" video had only about 50 views on the Sunday it was published, my videos usually get about 200. However the total for 7 days is about 4,200 when usual for 7 days is 1,500 - 2,100...

Odd Man out was just watchable if you've seen that? but TAMMJ was just low rent script writers trying to conjure up a vehicle for John Inman IMO

... is also in the same video! I'd have preferred if Julian Orchard had never found Inman at his fish and chip shop, there was a sitcom set-up there and they didn't use it!
