Houses of the characters

Congratulations on your promotion to LOTSW Fanatic

:) thank you Barry much appreciated no salute required , I have plagiarised one of Spike Milligan's poems to celebrate :-

My Name is Captain Fanatic fan
I walk about the town
Sometimes with my Trousers up
and sometimes with them down
and when they were up they were up
and when they were down ................. I got arrested .

;)

Trying to think of when we saw Truly's house. Could you name an episode, please?

It's marked on Terry's Summerwine Map Rick number 14 in the list and there is a picture of it as the house looks now changed a lot since they filmed . If you use streetview on Google maps and move down Sude Hill you come to a church that has also featured in the show [13 on the Map] . I suppose if I was Terry I would set you a quiz to see if you know which episode that appeared in.

I have mentioned heritage walks in this thread and yesterday I attended a walk in a suburb of Newcastle called Jesmond . To my surprise I learned that the mother of the infamous Butch Cassidy , Ann Campbell Gillies, was born and raised in this house before the family relocated to the States.

Ann met and married Maximilian Parker with whom she had 14 children one of them was Robert [ the infamous Butch Cassidy and member of the hole in the wall gang to be ] .

Had Ann and Maximilian decided to relocate to her birthplace of the UK could Butch have become a member of the gap in the fence gang or if they moved to the Midlands the Bandit from Stoke in Trent. :)

Yesterday was a rich day the photograph below is the house of Arthur Fenwick he of the major store Fenwick's in Newcastle famous for their Christmas window display . Clearly Arthur was eccentric but was absolutely besotted with all things Circus here is a little precis about him . Koringa who features in the inset picture took one of her animals , a crocodile, into Fenwick's store at the request of Arthur and this is the local paper reporting that .
