Do you miss old TV sets?

I don’t miss our old set from the ‘70’s. The picture used to go fuzzy and to solve this we had to thump in the top a few times and it would make a fizzing noise and then two loud bangs and it was then ok. The funny thing is we thought that this was normal :)
Doing this resets the flux capacitors

One of us used to climb up on the roof of our two-story house and turn the antenna while another of us watched the effect on the screen and shouted updates to the one on the roof. Our parents probably were horrified at the danger, but as pre-teens and teenagers we didn't know any better.

Now I have an indoor antenna, a very thin circular gadget that hangs on the wall facing the transmitters on the hill across the valley. I can get all of the channels I want, perfectly clearly, and it was a one-time, low-cost expense.

Maybe these old TV set were designed to keep the child population down
