If so what Flavours have you tried, how did it work for you in the sense of printers and other devices working out of the box, I have been trying differnt versions over the last couple of weeks and only two have been pretty easy to get working fully without spending hours trying to get basic devices working.
I have also found that the Brave browser blocks adverts without having to install extensions, which probably works on most platforms

IMG_20260221_145336920_HDR.jpgIn the past I would have given some of these a try with various results. There was another called Ubuntu I seen to remember was one I preferred the most.

I'm still on the fence. I like the idea, mostly to get away from a company that's all but a monopoly, but all of my peripheral devices work by default with Microsoft. So does nearly all of my software.

I don't think you'd have much trouble with the peripherals and the 3rd party (Wine/Bottle etc) support to run Window$ $oftware is improving almost daily. (Though a little legwork would be needed)

I have Ubuntu running on a mini PC, streaming all my video collection from my NAS with no problems, for my main PC I am using Mint which did work 99% out of the box, using bottles for the couple of windows apps that I have not yet found a replacement for yet, at this rate I will be ditching windows totally soon.
Let the force be with you

I've used Ubuntu, Mint, Mandriva and Zorin all with varying levels of satisfaction. For years I looked at this site often to see how the popularity race (displayed at right) was going, especially when a new distro hit the street. It appears now a distro called "CatchyOS" (which I've never heard of) is leading so I may have to get back in the game and give it a go.

I tried the Catchy OS Onslow as it had high rating, it was slow to install, even though I had the 2.9 gig ISO, it then went of and pulled another 3 gig from the internet, pleased to see the Bluetooth worked out of the box, but even though I checked the install printer drivers during the install I am not able to get the printer working yet, unlike most other disto's you have to dig out what depositiries manually, so at this time I think mint is still the leader for me to make the change from windows

Tried so many over the last 10 or so years... Cachy, Nix, OpenSuse, Zorin, Garuda, Nobara, Mint, MX and the list goes on. Used to camp on DistroWatch site to see what the latest flavor of Linux was.

The one I have been using trouble free for the last year plus has been PikaOS. It is based on rolling Debian Sid. Been rock solid and runs most every thing I have thrown at it. The only change I felt a need to make was the wallpaper background - the default was a bit too 'cartoony' for me. There is something about "It just works" that I have grown to like in my daily driver OS.

As bonus is they are based in the UK. https://wiki.pika-os.com/en/home . They have a 'live ISO' so you can test drive it without having to install it first.

You have an Ubuntu system based off Debian already so PikaOS should be a walk in the park for you. This rolling distro is nice because it updates and stays current without having to upgrade on new version releases.

I have an old HP combo printer / scanner / fax(!) that I rarely use, PikaOS detected it and ran fine as well as a USB wifi antenna for my desktop. Also have PikaOS on my HTPC.

Good luck in your search.'

Added: Mind sharing which two you do like?
