After a cancelled appointment for the 23rd of this month, I had a call today that they will do my Cataract surgery on this Sunday the 22nd, I have to travel to Grimsby instead of Brigg, okay another 12 miles away but I just want to get it done, the other eye was done at the end of 2019, so my vision will be great in both eyes.
I have to be there at 8 am, so the roads will be empty going up to Grimsby and when we arrive there should be plenty of Parking, happy days

Well that's the end of us passing the biscuits round near your bad eye!
Good luck, think of the money you're going to save no light bulbs nnow. Its going to be a busy week for you.

Best wishes, Terry, and quick recovery. You'll be able to make photos with that eye to the view finder with no chance of accidently overexposing them.

When I had my first cataract removed, as the surgeon pulled out the clouded lens and the light came through, that was the first thing I thought of! That is, as much as I was capable of rational thought. The anesthetic used is so relaxing that I really didn't want to bother with thinking.

When you say anaesthetic Marianna, all we get is eye drops to numb the eye

Bummer! We get something administered via IV, too.
Maybe it's to give you a bigger bill, the drops alone work fine and you are not on the table for more than 10 minutes, if you went private prices range from £2100 to £3000 for a standard lens, normally for distance vision, otherwise it can reach £6000 per eye to give you an all singing and dancing lens.
The NHS have been sending a lot of folk to private clinics A to clear the backlog and B It is cheaper due to NHS Admin cost

My Aunt had both hers done, she had a spray and said she never felt a thing and was on the table for less than 10 minutes. She was home an hour later. Can't see why you'd need a IV.
