    See ya Compo

Just watched series 29, the episode It's Never Ten Years, which was a tribute to Compo, showing previous clips of him in the show. This reminded me of the episode in which 'See Ya Compo' is displayed on the hillside. If I can recall, in the episode Clegg is escorted to the hill-top to be shown...

    See ya Compo

Just watched in series 29 the episode It's Never Ten Years, which showed clips of compo. So, it did take me back to the episode in which they displayed 'See Ya Compo' on the hill. If I can recall, Clegg is escorted to the hill to show him the display as a surprise. I was wondering if Peter...

    Snow - Where?

Since we had the dreaded Smart meter installed; if it snows in London then the meter will hit the jackpot. Not looking forward to snow, sadly.

    Confused on this one

I heard somewhere that Roy Clark was approached by a BBC producer, who asked if he can make a series about 'three old men.'

    Confused on this one

But to play a dvd you need a TV. If you possess a TV then I thought it was necessary to have a BBC TV licence. I think the licence will need to be reviewed by government because the ratings for watching BBC channels have decreased substantially due to subscription channels.

    Why so few car owners?

I always wondered, if the final scene was in a pub, would the actors be drinking genuine beer? or do the rules apply; no alcoholic drinks permitted during shooting (bar Charles Hawtrey.)

    Confused on this one

The series chose the top 10 sit-coms 'as voted by the audience who phone or text.' There was probably a charge for this.

    Why so few car owners?

Barry always appeared to have different car. I'm not saying any more Than that!

    Gentle Comedies

Robin's nest was a spin-off from Man About the House. He qualified as a chef. A series I am currently watching that I recall viewing in the early 2000s is The Mighty Boosh. Warning, it's a bit nuts, so I advise watching one episode per session.

    Anybody a Beatles fan?

Brilliant song. I love the scene where they play the song on a roof.

    Why so few car owners?

But the series is primarily about three old men and their adventures around the Yorkshire peak district. A car would ruin the plots.

    Gentle Comedies

I watch a little of it, only because David Jason is cast in the show; otherwise, it wouldn't see the light of day.

Why was he chosen as the vicar?

I am not certain, but I heard that the revenue from the success of The Omen allowed Star. wars to be created.

Why was he chosen as the vicar?

In LOTSW he played a good natured character, whereas in The Omen he has fallen from grace.

Why was he chosen as the vicar?

Watched LOTSW episode called 'The Only Diesel Saxophone in Captivity.' Which is in series 19. The actor Martin Benson had a small part in the episode cast as a vicar. I chuckled because the first thought that came in mind was he played a Catholic priest (Father Spiletto) in the 1976 film The...

RIP the Swan Man of Ilkley

I loved Cannon and Ball. Always reminded me of Abbott and Costello or Laurel and Hardy.

    Gentle Comedies

There appears to be no mention of the sitcom Terry and June. A very gentle comedy. Prior to which they starred in Happy Ever After. Another mild comedy, though more of a theatrical acting which I recall watching in the mid 70s was The Ghost of Motley Hall. It starred Peter Sallis. I had a...

Some recent 'new to me' shows

I watched the series Happy Ever After last year. I did not know that it preceded Terry and June. One of my favourites is Rising Damp. It is so well written. I often read the script version.

    Are lines dubbed in?

I have been watching numerous episodes of LOTSW and cannot help noticing that when the actors are on location there are times when in the scene the weather looks breezy and often even their clothes are flapping around; yet the voices appear pristine with no interference from the natural...

    Laurel & Hardy

I can't believe that L&H was created nearly 100 years ago. I loved watching the talkie shorts as a child and the films were aired at Christmas.
