Had me in fits of laughter

And rightly so. It is a fantastic song. Don't want it ridiculed by medicines.

    Musical references to other comedies

Read a book a little while ago that mentioned this Dallas issue. I think they wanted to sue.

    The Mangle

Now, in that particular episode, the trio had to delicately bring the mangle down the concrete steps outside Nora's house. The mangle falls down the steps and remarkably lands upright. Could this have been a matter of luck, because there appears to be an expression of surprise and astonishment...

SWers who were in a Carry On film

I am sure Brian Wilde was in Carry on Doctor, who comes to the hospital to measure the bed that Frankie Howerd is sleeping in, who thinks he has come to measure him up for a coffin

Why was Ivy confused or shocked?

But why should Foggy send a present to Ivy? Actually, as it was a Christmas Special and it is the time to remember friends and relatives etc and the surprised look on her face; that the present and accompanying card was from her deceased husband. However, I did not want to commit myself as it...

Why was Ivy confused or shocked?

I've just watched the Christmas special 1989 episode called "what's Santa brought for Nora Then?" Right at the end of the show the cast are exchanging presents. Compo gives Nora a present, which was meant to be from Howard to Marina. Ivy was presented with what looks like a decorative egg. But...

    Laughter track

I must say, I prefer the laughter on screen, even if it is dubbed in. I didn't really think much about it until I watched some of the Christmas episodes, which were films; so there was no laughter.

    Insight into the characters

I have just finished reading LOTSW, written by Andrew Vine. I always got the impression that the three main actors were real friends and enjoyed each others company when not filming. This could not be far from the truth. For example, did you know that Foggy was paid twice that of the other two...

    Are You Being Served

I would never have known that Blamire was the bearer in It Ain't Half Hot Mum.

    Are You Being Served

I have been watching the 1st and 2nd series of LOTSW and found it to be quite funny. Michael Bates was good, but after beginning to watch the 3rd series, Foggy (Brian Wilde) does appear to bring a different dimension to the show.

    Are You Being Served

Are You Being Served was so very popular. I liked all the characters. Frank Thornton (Captain Peacock) went on to star in LOTSW, however, I haven't watched the episodes with him in the series. I will get the opportunity, now that I have the box set. The film Are You Being Served is actually...

    Hi all

Yes, sorry about the odd user name, but it was a film I recall seeing at the cinema when it first aired. Also, I like anything to do with the Moon.

    Hi all

It will be my first time. We were at the Yorkshire Dales some time back, but did not get the chance to go. Besides, I was accompanied with my wife and three children; I don't think it's their cup of tea. Looking to go next week, when the weather is good. Just purchased the complete series...
