    Well Done Everyone

(In Foggy's Voice) - "Well, when the chips are down, we can be counted upon to stand and be counted". (In Compo's Voice) - "Eeee.tha' does talk a load of kack".

    Calling all old rockers !

It's funny, I always thought of the Beatles as a bit "Girly". It was partly the songs that they sang, partly the silly hairstyles and their little "Uniforms" early on. On the other hand, the Stones were "Proper blokes".

Still Open All Hours Series 3

Anyone recall Tim Healy in "Heartburn hotel" ...... it was a "Curate's egg" kind of series, but had me laughing on a good few occasions.

A question about Aladdin Gets on Your Wick

I've had a search around on the internet and come up with a quite similar one - a Bedford - That narrows it down a bit.

A question about Aladdin Gets on Your Wick

Specifically, about the old van that Smiler drives, dressed in his Chinese costume. Does anyone know the make of the vehicle ? - I've never seen one. The sliding doors (especially the REAR sliding door) are unusual.

    Reggies farm

I've also found the exact location of that bridge by referring to the background in the scene from "Aladdin gets on your Wick". It's a few yards to the west of a children's playground and parking area between Huddersfield Road and Bramble Bank.

Found location for Deviations with Davenport

That's on my list of further places to visit on my next trip up there. Already been twice but you can't cover everything in just a couple of days.

    Reggies farm

Yes, and I believe it's featured in quite a few episodes, such as "Aladdin Gets on your Wick", The episode with the depressed chimney sweep, and I think even Eli has stepped off it in one show.

Found location for Deviations with Davenport

Quite possibly. All those forests are managed and harvested for the timber. I noticed that Barry and Glenda live in "Hade Edge". That's one place I haven't visited (I'm talking about the farm lane) - It may well be a private road.

    Reggies farm

amos hamesWell-Known Member New No worries. Also in series 31 a few episodes started with the gang on a bridge over a river with what looks like a football or playing field next to it, Does anyone know where this is Amos - This location is Sands Recreation Area - Between Huddersfield Road and...

Found location for Deviations with Davenport

Well, I think I have......... The scene in Deviations with Davenport where the trio have got themselves lost, and are standing by a ruined old cottage by a farm where they get chased off by a dog. The same location as was used in a scene in "The only Diesel-powered Saxophone.........". Correct...

Still Open All Hours Series 3

David Jason is very talented - My favourite series of his was "Porterhouse Blue" where he played Scullion, not least because of the other great actors - That series is not often mentioned these days. I always thought it was a shame the series ended with Scullion's death, effectively preventing...

The Making of the Vintage Years of Last of the Summer Wine

I noticed in the lower photograph on page 27, there seem to be TWO doubles for Compo.

The Making of the Vintage Years of Last of the Summer Wine

I bought a used copy yesterday on Amazon for less than £ 3 - including the postage. They had quite a few of them on offer by Amazon Traders yesterday.

    Finally.

Just watched the third episode of the final boxed set with a friend - We both agreed that the show took a dive the moment Hobbo appeared. The relegation of Clegg and Truly to merely sitting in Clegg's lounge reading newspapers didn't help either. There was barely a laugh over the entire first...

    Finally.

I did find DKYC a bit tiring towards the end - Too many "Catch phrases", repeated too often. Have you watched "The Detectorists" ? - Is that of a similar style to LOSW ? - Worth watching ?
