Did not realize you were also the thread starter on this one, Barry. I do like your list better. Thanks for the link. As Clegg has been known to say "I'll be quite now and go stand over there."
Cheers, friend. :)
Wow, @MoodyBlue , that is interesting. Just found an article on it from the Liverpool Echo. Said the plant was started in 1890. Had a bomb scare in WWII. Also that they are planning to dismantle it.
We held a meeting long ago and volunteered you to collate a list. Did you not get the memo? We sent it to your AOL account. ;-)
Just teasing, friend. Here ya go. They are in order mentioned. I just copy & paste as I skimmed through the pages. I may have overlooked one here or there, but...
Engineering in Standedge Tunnel
Interesting video about checking on / updating the communication system within the tunnels. A trip through the old railway line and the canal path parts.
I think Terry used to work with a telecom company. @maltrab , would you have jumped at the chance to...
Was not sure what to title this thread. The following video inspired this post thread.
What happened to Gasometers ?
An interesting video from some guys on gasometers from around Manchester, Bradford Colliery. I remember seeing structures like these in various British shows over the ages...
Glad to hear Codfanglers that you see yourself and wife as a version of Lionel and Jean. I always thought of Lionel's character as a likeable curmudgeon. Help could get grumpy and stubborn at times. :-)
In one of the specials of the show I really like that Moira (Judith) said she would get...
Really hope you like As Time Goes By Barry. It is a great series. Well written and well acted. Introduced my parents to the show long ago and they thoroughly enjoyed it as well. You may recognize a few of the other actors in it that pop up from time to time.
Norah's friend or neighbor lady holding a laundry basket and clothesline clips for her in the pilot episode. Possibly neighbor since she has an apron on and curlers in. First few minutes of the video.
Haha, they were talking about that weren't they? Got caught up in all the rest of the interview I forgot about his book part of it. Think she said there was an audio version which I believe you are referring to with Spotify. I think that will be a good idea, thanks, Barry.
This is the first time I have seen David Jason not as a character in a show. He seems like a genuinely nice person. I bet he would be a great story teller and someone to just chill and have a beverage with.
I really like how he gives credit to the folks on the set and the team as a whole. His...
Not sure if we have any gamers on here from days of old. But if you are a fan of the beverage and enjoy a good sing song then this is a nice tribute to Charlie Mops - the man who invented beer. He must have been an admiral, a sultan or a king...
This video is from a computer game I played...
I had heard this as well. For example:
- To deter announcers from talking over the end music /credits by introducing the next show or whatever.
- Prevent broadcasters from trimming the episode a bit short to display announcements, adverts, etc.
- Broadcasters reducing the outro to a small...
A late Happy Birthday to ya, Leigh :18:!
Hope things are well your way. Been a while since we last chatted. I miss working with ya on subs for your videos. What an awesome gift from Pete! :)
Cheers,
Rick
