Gentle Comedies - The Definitive Guide

Thanks on this. This one slipped by me. Just looked and the cast and seems very interesting.

    Gentle Comedies

Did not realize you were also the thread starter on this one, Barry. I do like your list better. Thanks for the link. As Clegg has been known to say "I'll be quite now and go stand over there." Cheers, friend. :)

Gentle Comedies - The Definitive Guide

Nice list. I like how you have boxes around the episode titles. Plus in alphabetical order. Way better than the list I made.

Oops, that I did not know, Barry. We can have this one deleted if it is a duplicate.

    The humble gasometer

Wow, @MoodyBlue , that is interesting. Just found an article on it from the Liverpool Echo. Said the plant was started in 1890. Had a bomb scare in WWII. Also that they are planning to dismantle it.

    Gentle Comedies

We held a meeting long ago and volunteered you to collate a list. Did you not get the memo? We sent it to your AOL account. ;-) Just teasing, friend. Here ya go. They are in order mentioned. I just copy & paste as I skimmed through the pages. I may have overlooked one here or there, but...

A closer look into the Standedge Tunnel - Diggle to Marsden

Engineering in Standedge Tunnel Interesting video about checking on / updating the communication system within the tunnels. A trip through the old railway line and the canal path parts. I think Terry used to work with a telecom company. @maltrab , would you have jumped at the chance to...

    The humble gasometer

Was not sure what to title this thread. The following video inspired this post thread. What happened to Gasometers ? An interesting video from some guys on gasometers from around Manchester, Bradford Colliery. I remember seeing structures like these in various British shows over the ages...

    Gentle Comedies

I think the inflatable elephant was the star of that episode. :29:

    Gentle Comedies

Glad to hear Codfanglers that you see yourself and wife as a version of Lionel and Jean. I always thought of Lionel's character as a likeable curmudgeon. Help could get grumpy and stubborn at times. :-) In one of the specials of the show I really like that Moira (Judith) said she would get...

    Gentle Comedies

Really hope you like As Time Goes By Barry. It is a great series. Well written and well acted. Introduced my parents to the show long ago and they thoroughly enjoyed it as well. You may recognize a few of the other actors in it that pop up from time to time.

    Curlers

Norah's friend or neighbor lady holding a laundry basket and clothesline clips for her in the pilot episode. Possibly neighbor since she has an apron on and curlers in. First few minutes of the video.

A brief interview with Sir David Jason - ITV

Haha, they were talking about that weren't they? Got caught up in all the rest of the interview I forgot about his book part of it. Think she said there was an audio version which I believe you are referring to with Spotify. I think that will be a good idea, thanks, Barry.

A brief interview with Sir David Jason - ITV

This is the first time I have seen David Jason not as a character in a show. He seems like a genuinely nice person. I bet he would be a great story teller and someone to just chill and have a beverage with. I really like how he gives credit to the folks on the set and the team as a whole. His...

The Bard's Tale - Beer Song - Charlie Mops

Not sure if we have any gamers on here from days of old. But if you are a fan of the beverage and enjoy a good sing song then this is a nice tribute to Charlie Mops - the man who invented beer. He must have been an admiral, a sultan or a king... This video is from a computer game I played...

    World War 1 memoir

Very nice. I think it important that stories like these are saved to be able to be shared with others.

    Scenes after end Credits

I had heard this as well. For example: - To deter announcers from talking over the end music /credits by introducing the next show or whatever. - Prevent broadcasters from trimming the episode a bit short to display announcements, adverts, etc. - Broadcasters reducing the outro to a small...
