    Was this the real ending?

To each their own Codfanglers, we are all different, thank heavens. There are deffinately some episodes that i very much still enjoy watching but as i mentioned in my original post, it all seemed to get a bit "crowded" with all the various cast members being in the same situation. What i meant...

1989 Christmas Special; What's Santa Brought for Nora Then?

I would say it was dubbed, watch his fingers on the neck of the banjo, they aren't in the positions that they should be for the tune, in fact they hardly move at all. G ; )

And a Dewhurst up a fir tree

One of my favorites and i also had not seen it until i got the DVD set. The only part i'm not keen on, is the scene in the card shop, Compo seems to overdo it yet again with the "angry gasman" gag and chasing Nora, not really sure why she needed to be in there to be honest. G ; )

1989 Christmas Special; What's Santa Brought for Nora Then?

Strangely enough, both "Crums" and "What's Santa brought for Nora" are not ones i watch very often, same with "A leg up for Christmas". The earlier Christmas episodes, such as "Penny Wassail", "Whoops", "Fir tree" and "All mod conned" are probably my favorite Christmas episodes, i find the later...

    Was this the real ending?

Just been looking at the episode listing and realised that by Series 24, 5th January 2003, The Lair Of The Cat Creature would probably be around the realistic time of 30 years of the programme, as it began in January 1973. For me personally, that was also around the time that it started to be...

    Where are u all from

I'm originally from the Rossendale valley in Lancashire, which is about 35 miles from Holmfirth. I did visit a couple of times in the 80's but never had the time or chance to visit since. I moved to Anglesey in North Wales in 1988, then to a little village called Y Felinheli (port dinorwic)...

Just finished viewing Compo's Passing Trilogy

I also like Clegg's reply when he says "I expect there were quite a few things happened to Marilyn Monroe that aren't going to happen to Nora". I think it was also in the same episode, when the three of them are walking up a street, that Clegg says about his wife "And then she died, which i...

    Great Back-to-Back Episodes

Don't get me wrong, some of the best episodes were with Foggy, more so his first stint, although "Return of the warrior" and some of the other episodes in his second stint are brilliant but i still find that Bill was prone to overdo it sometimes. The Blamire series are some of my favorites...

Just bought series 23/24, odd tracklisting.

Yes, i did check play all, plus separately, it isn't on the start list when the disc loads. I'll send it back. G ; )
  10. Blue summer

Just bought series 23/24, odd tracklisting.

Just checked disc 3 again and it definately isn't on there, although on the track listing, it shows it as the first episode on disc 4!! I will probably send it back with a covering letter, explaining the problem and ask for a refund. Bit disappointing though, Play.com have usually been quite...

    Great Back-to-Back Episodes

Must agree that the Scarborough episodes are brilliant, plus the "Wales" one (cos i live very close to where it was filmed) and of course "Full steam behind". But...recently, i've been enjoying the Truly episodes more and more, they seem less "silly", if you will, especially the ones with Billy...

Just bought series 23/24, odd tracklisting.

Anyone else had a similar problem? Discs one and two are fine, what is on the disc corresponds to what is on the tracklisting on the back cover. However, discs three and four are not, what is on the discs, isn't what is on the tracklisting, very odd, not had this problem before. Plus, "Beware of...

    Electrical Entwhistle

I quite liked Entwistle to be honest, he had his moments and it needed someone with a truck to replace Wesley, so the gang could be ferried about in their various adventures. The last series was a bit of a disappointment for me, considering how long the programme had been going, it was mainly...

did anyone else think the Sid and Ivy rowing scenes were toned down aftera while

There seems to be some confusion here between Rowing, as in rowing a boat and Rowing, as in having an argument. So they didn't Row (argue) in the boat in Scarborough, Sid did Row the boat though. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rowing

    Wally Batty,legend.

His cheeky one-liners were brilliantly written and brilliantly acted: Clegg: "You must have been irresistible". Wally: "I was". and: "It must have been part of my fatal charm". He did what he had to do, no more, no less, one of the old school actors, who didn't overdo it. G ; )

pity the series didnt hit the heights of' '82 again

When Summer wine first aired in 1973, i would be about 19 years old and i wasn't all that aware of the programme until maybe 1978, which is when i first started taking an interest in it. The one that sticks in my mind is "Greenfingers"...Le giant Carrot. I started to seriously become obsessed in...

    Christmas specials.

Watched this one again the other evening, i don't like to watch it too often, otherwise it can get a bit "samey", just like any other DVD really i suppose. I got to like it more, once i realised that Sid was having to lip-synch to Tony Melody's dialogue, due to his cancer. Probably another xmas...

    Sherbert??

I was watching the FOTSW DVD's yesterday, first time in about six months. I also feel that Sherbert was possibly a casualty of the war. The idea that he was to become Sid, probably wouldn't have worked, otherwise he would have had to have had the sherbert nick-name from the beginning of Summer...

    Christmas specials.

Yes, Small tune and All mod conned are both good xmas episodes. I've just watched Barry's Christmas tonight with my tea and to be honest, it's not really one of my favorite episodes. Fir tree is ok but again it isn't one i tend to watch very often.

Series 11, Episode 3; Oh Shut Up and Eat Your Choc Ice

Oh i don't know, i've owned quite a few Robins over the years and a decent one had a decent amount of HP. I did once tow a two-berth caravan for a fella, from a caravan centre on Anglesey, to his house in Holyhead and although i had to take it easy, it did pull it fairly well....but never again!
