    Something to view in lockdown

It pretty much is with stop signs entering. It's been that way since before I was born. My father used to drive stock cars (pretty good from what I've heard, he had multiple sponsors, locally) and basically was a trouble maker in his younger days He had a 51 Ford shoebox, flathead V-8 and raced...

    Something to view in lockdown

I've been keeping busy during the covid situation. I quit work in December 2019 due to my lung collapsing and a paralyzed esophagus and paralyzed diaphragm. Yes, it was a crazy surprise. No injury or anything, just got short of breath all of a sudden, thought it was asthma, nope! I've recovered...

    Memories of Days gone by

I have many great memories of growing up. I grew up in a really small town (300 people) and you could yell loud enough to be heard across the entire town, it helped we lived in a valley too. -When it was time to come home, our parents would yell our name, we would always freeze and listen for...

    How Odd

Sometimes around here, when they divide up a house into flats, they add letters after the address. Example, 128-B Monroe ave.128-C, etc. I haven't ever seen 1/2 on anything.

How has watching Summerwine changed you?

Lots has changed me as well. I have learned many things about the UK as well as trying new foods, (which I love!) . On a deeper level I find much peace in my soul while watching lots. After a busy day sitting down watching SW let's me breathe deeper and enjoy the little things more. I'm also...

    RIP George

Goodbye George, I'll miss all the funny jokes here and on Facebook. I'm very sad that one of our own has passed. He will surely be missed. Sitting at the doctor's office will never be the same. I used sit there and read his jokes while waiting to be called, no matter how bad I was feeling they...

    True UK food?

Hi Pete, We also have stores dedicated to just candy. I have found them in our shopping malls mainly. We have Mounds bars and Almond Joy bars( just a Mounds with an almond on top) and if I remember right they do have the cardboard bottom. As chuck was saying in a post here, we have whole...

    True UK food?

So, how much are Bounty bars there? Our regular candy bars (Snickers/ Hershey) here run around $1.00 at a Walmart, but at a gas station/ convenience store $1.39ish. I didn't think $1.65 was all that bad for an authentic UK treat :)

    True UK food?

As I was looking at the UK food section and (probably more oddly looking) taking pictures to show all of you, A gentleman from Yorkshire came up to me (very thick accent, it took me a minute to process) and said to try the Yorkshire tea. He said he was from Yorkshire and he also bought a Bounty...

    True UK food?

Hello All, I went to my local grocery store and noticed a UK flag stuck to one of the shelves. Obviously it caught my attention. So, they have a UK section now. I purchased some Yorkshire Tea, a sleeve of Rich tea biscuits, and a Bounty bar. Are these real items that you see in your grocery...
