I love this line from Cleggy

It was in "The Self-Propelled Salad Strainer" when Compo is picking flowers for Nora and picks the flower on Marina's hat.

The women who carried out Yorkshire funny stuff...

Good one. That was "The McDonaghs of Jamieson Street." At least that's the one where she was driving the car. It was a different episode where she drove a different vehicle - but I'll leave that for Dick to mention.

The women who carried out Yorkshire funny stuff...

My favorite is when Ivy and Nora lure Compo into the cafe kitchen and relieve him of his trousers in "And a Dewhurst Up a Fir Tree."

    What Happened to the Flag

Yes. That was supposed to be his last year directing the program - and would have been except for Brian Wilde complaining about Alan Bell. That brought him back for a year until Brian realized Alan's style of directing really was good.

    Who is this

Is this Andrew Wilde? Film Editor for LOTSW and son of "Foggy."

Thoughts on the later years of LOTSW (long)

It is the last line of the pilot. But, you are right Maggie, it was also used as the last line in "A Merry Heatwave." That one has Foggy up a tree looking for the Colorado beetle.

    Calling all Amateur Slueths

For those who would like to watch but don't get the program, there are a number of episodes on Youtube, and at this point they are decent copies, not the scrunched up version of LOTSW.

    Name Some Episodes #17

If it's Weetabix, that's from Of Passion and Pizza, referring to Mrs Crayshaw, a personal trainer, from Brighouse accused of eating it raw. Not being British, I didn't know that was cereal.

I finally found it, Dick. It was in "Flower Power Cut." Clegg sits in the middle of the road to tie his shoe when the hearse comes flying over the hill. Later Clegg says in the cafe, "Do you realise, there up the hill, that's the first time that Murdoch's ever passed us without raising two...

Good one Andrew. That was at the end of "Yours Truly - If You're Not Careful."

Was "A Musical Passing for a Miserable Muscroft" written for Wesley originally?

I suppose only Roy Clarke or Alan JW Bell actually know the answer, but I don't have to stretch at all to see the real possibility of that being the case. The fact that Entwistle's part is so small in this episode supports that theory. Normally a new character would be given larger or at least...

In "Oh, Howard. We Should Get One of Those." we didn't see Wesley drive the car, but he would have had to after Compo took Nora away in the BedMobile.

Now just a minute. You corrected me when I accidentally called you Lieutenant Commander Willoughby, Royal Navy, retired. Now all of a sudden you claim to be him - or are you claiming to be Ron Moody. OR are you claiming you came back to life and disguised yourself, just so you could fall into...
