If I have this correct Barrychuckle, the "Popman" was a delivery driver of "softdrink"? eg. Lemonade etc?
If so he is definitely dead!...My dad was a "lemonade" driver in Scotland in the 50's... Long gone now!...Mind you, would you WANT a 94 year old lorry driver? :fp:
Not sure if it is relevant, but I once met a bloke called "Terry" in Sid's Cafe.
I think he was stalking me because he also turned up at Compo and Clegg's grave as well as the White Horse!!
Nothing to match you Moody....my claims to fame basically involve locking up various famous West Aus people...although LONG ago When I was managing a Sports Store in a country town I did sell a (cheap and nasty) cricket ball to members of a famous Oz band from the 70's called "Sherbert"
I also...
I have just recently binge watched every episode SOAH. I found it watchable, however it was VERY light compared to the original and for some reason some of it just didn't quite hit the mark. Granville has morphed into the money grabbing role of Arkwright as would probably be expected...
Great show! Watched it when it first came out and have seen repeats many times! Lots of good scenes and gags without being overly outrageous!
You will notice in one episode when a tradesman comes to the house he is asked if he wanted a phone that went with him everywhere (LOOOOOOONNNG before...
I agree with the idea in principle. Barrychuckle's idea of a couple of extra pull down menus seems a sensible solution to me on the face of it.
Don't have enough tech knowledge to know whether a separate domain name is required or warranted however.
Wstol I think put it better than I could! ^^>:
I rarely watch terrestrial or "free to air" tv as it is called here. Mainly just the news, but I watch Utube and a couple of other streaming services through the tv. This means of course that the tv (actually a "Firestick" in most cases) is connected wirelessly to my router/modem.
It is...
Just read the latest on the Dick Emery thread.....I think the last couple of entries there reinforce and possibly better reflect my comments above!^^>:
The first 2 series (with Blamire) always seemed "separate" to the rest. I came to the show late and so like most people here started to look into the previous episodes, starting with Series 1
The show, to me anyway, seemed to emulate the times it was made ("No sh*t Sherlock!:08:) Remember at...
I agree, it is a great show...it is basically on an endless loop over here on one channel. An episode or two every week until the last, then rinse and repeat!
I too am fed up to the back teeth with advertising! I basically no longer watch "free to air" TV (No licence fees Down Under thankfully) because of the damn things. Some adverts are quite good and clever to watch....ONCE! not on endless repeat every couple of minutes.
As programming and Station...
DEFINITELY agree Pearl, not quite 47 for us (44 next month) but DEFINITELY a TV each. Wasn't a problem for the first few years,
A. KIDS
B. Only had a couple of channels anyway.
Wife watches cricket and football (Aussie rules, NOT the "hands off" game) I find them as BORING as watching cars...
I skip parts of some shows when I binge watch, only because I have seen them so many times I can recite the dialogue completely AND describe the scene, surroundings and background almost to the individual blade of grass. That is MOSTLY true of all episodes but there are occasional grass shoots I...
I watched the first few series of the UK (original) series and it was OK, started to go off it after about 3 seasons.
I have tried to watch the US version but, as I expected with a US knockoff I found it unwatchable.
I find most, if not all UK to US versions of shows are krapp. SOME US to UK...
