    Summer Wine on VHS

Lol I remember Betamax. I only ever knew one kid that had a Betamax recorder, and I remember him trying to persuade me to get my dad to change over. There was no way though.

    Summer Wine on VHS

Yes I love the wine bottle cover as well. I also quite liked the 90s video releases of the Blamire years with the pictures of leaves on the back. I had no idea idea, however, that the wine bottle one was re-released in the 90s. My version is from 1984 and has the old style BBC coloured logo on it.

    Summer Wine on VHS

Did anyone ever own any of these two VHS videos when they were originally available? I remember the Getting Sam Home one was available for rental, back in the 80s, but the other one passed me by. I suppose, like most VHS to buy in the early to mid eighties, they must have cost a bit, even if you...

    Strange Caterpillar

Hi Peri. Great reply.. I did think it was one of the Tussock moths but I did not see the usual tufts that that caterpillar has. I have since been told that it could be a migrant species. I am still looking into it. Thanks anyway.

Just watched 'Pole Star' and Ivy mentions Sid's two toffees that were always covered in tobacco and fluff.

    Mini and Johnny Go Home

Hi wstol, The BFI sent me to ITV. They said that they held the Johnny Go Home documentary but that some kind of copyright or legal issue would mean they would not be releasing it. Personnally, I just think they are waiting for certain people in the documentary to die before they release it...

    Strange Caterpillar

Lol Thanks for the advice, Barry. I didn't pick it up. It looked like the kind of thing that Clegg or Compo would claim was crawling on Foggy's cap. Think I might try and send the pic of to some nature site somewhere. They might know. Thanks anyway.

    Strange Caterpillar

I found this caterpillar on a beech tree in my local woods but have no idea what it is. I am pretty good with moths and butterflies but this one has me stumped. Are there any experts out there?

    Mini and Johnny Go Home

Anybody got copies of these fabulous documentaries that are far overdue for release? I have been on to the BFI and ITV about the release of these programmes before (as have many others) but without success. The whole situation becomes more and more suspicious with every year that goes by...

    Inebriation and it's effects

Compo, Clegg and Blamire were all one over the eight at the end of Pate and Chips. Each toasting individual people and things with a can of Long Life. Lol

Reflecting on Summer Wine and One Wish

I'm sure I read somewhere that they rejected the fat suit idea because Jonathan Linsley had also lost a lot of weight around the face and, therefore, it would have looked slightly odd.

    Wyatt's Watchdogs

Yes I'd forgotten about that, Barry. I must confess that I never noticed him the first time I watched it. Nice to see him.though.

Reflecting on Summer Wine and One Wish

I enjoyed the elongated cafe and pub scenes in the early episodes, so I would probably choose to see more of that in the later episodes if I had the choice.
