    That's Not Diesel

Steam is so dramatic, so interesting to watch as those locomotives pass by.

    Another Year Gone

In the middle of a rerun of Perry Mason, watched the Ball Drop and listened to Frank sing his homage to New York. Oh that tickles the heart! Then finished watching Perry Mason. Tonight, saw the sun set, the purple clouds were amazing. Happy New Year Everyone!

    What are you hoping for

I celebrated Boxing Day by mailing off a box. Our wonderful mailman advised us that the box did not have a USPS return label (but rather a UPS label), thereby saving us a useless trip to the post office.

    What are you hoping for

Speaking of turkeys, if one were to be advised of the inside scoop on their lives prior to being the main dish, one would be totally aghast. Vegetarians unite!

    Similarities

Well, there are the walls. In LOTSW, Compo walks on top of walls, and in KUP, Hyacinth, to keep the truth about her family from Elizabeth, climbs over a wall.

Hurry. The tide leaves in six minutes.

Speaking of tides, somewhere in England there is a tide that goes up a river and due to a natural funnel action, this creates a wave. And man o man, when you have a wave, surfers are on it! By the hundreds!

Oh dear, it finally came to me -- that (ahem) I, yes, saw that -- yup, when I was a child and it has occurred to me that -- my parents fit that model. Yep, Nora and Wally to the "T."

    For Gordon Wharmby fans

Then Gordon went through a period of time which can be characterized as "self-doubt" and a traumatic period of growth as an actor. Alan Bell hung in there with him and eventually Gordon came to an understanding and self-realization.

    Storm Darragh

Oddly enough I watch NHK which is a Japanese Public Broadcasting channel (always in English). They have a 15 minute newscast at the top of the hour and they always show the weather, including Great Britain. Of course the temperature is always in Celsius, but still it's interesting to see what...

You expect me to take how many?

Walking outside and using the treadmill is your exercise program! When I was working, I would spend my lunchtime walking in the gardens of the Smithsonian and occasionally observing the ducks at the Native American Museum. This entailed a lot of walking!

You expect me to take how many?

If you can, exercise. In general there are two modes of exercise and that is to lift weights, and to use a bicycle (stationary or regular), The Big E is it!!! There are many studies on general health and the bottom line has always been the same. YOU MUST EXERCISE.

    New Addition to my Collection

Do you have a room in your home that needs an update? Start with that phone and use it as a starting point. Go back to the charity shop and look for other items of that ilk and go for it!

I see the stupid PC world is thriving in the UK as it is here

Yup recently, the PC people took aim at the name of my (ahem) favorite football team and so they were renamed. They still don't have mascot so there is a giant W on their helmets. How does Commander strike you as a team name? Yep, a real winner.
