    Blurtin' Mrs Merton

Something a bit different for me ... I was invited to talk on Tom Kwei's excellent podcast 'Blurtin' Mrs Merton', to talk about an episode of Caroline Ahern's spoof chat show, The Mrs. Merton Show. You can hear the podcast here: Blurtin' Mrs Merton #7 w/Upstaged by a Dog

    Adverts

If the YouTube channel is monetised, the channel owner decides whether to have 'mid-roll' adverts or not. They can choose where to place them. However, YT has introduced 'AI' Ad placement by default - you have to disable it on each video if you want to choose your own ad breaks. Existing videos...

    Clegg's house is for sale

There is one episode where Nora and Compo are both in the same shot, when she is looking up at his window. You'll have to watch my Location Trivia video to see where Compo's bedroom window really was!

    Mobile Chip Vans

We had one in the mid-to-late-1970s. I only vaguely remember when as I know we we moved in or a bit before 1973. It was nothing like Aunties shop van, just an ordinary Bedford panel van, I guess it had a side door - but I do remember the back doors opening and it almost resembled A-A-Arkwright's...

    Mobile Chip Vans

Oh! What a disappointment - it's wasn't "a hilarious name" ... but it does have the following wording on the side of the driver's cab: "Fish & Chip Saloon". 'Saloon'? That's not the first word I'd associate with a chippy - and - the van isn't an 'eat in' affair, so ....?

    Flight path.

they look like flies on the windscreen! The choppers from Turweston didn't fly over us unless they had to re-route due to crowding, there's another airfield at Hinton in the Hedges a few miles to the west (left)

    Flight path.

I lived in a small town called Brackley near Silverstone for 17 years. During the first part of that time every year when the British Grand Prix was on, just 6 miles down the road, the main road through town and town centre came to a standstill. Clogged with cars looking for a place to stop...

Left hand - Right hand, total strangers!

we get hospital appointment letters the day after the appointment, and the doctor confirmed one clinic said he cancelled a referral to them, despite the doc not contacting them since making the referral! If you want an appointment for the 'pain clinic' expect them to contact you next May. all...

    Gentle Comedies

It's not just the studio sets, all the location filming had to be closed sets and all the extras needed to be in period costume, cars and other vehicles needed to match the period. Things like modern street signs, tv aerials and receiver dishes have to be removed, modern street furniture - post...

How accurate a statement is this?

<exasperated sigh> That's a trench coat with the cap. Truly wore a trench coat! Clegg has a grey-ish or black plastic mac ... and every Yorkshireman wears a cloth cap! Lazy, stupid reporters.
