Director's Chair deal alert in the US

A little, but probably expected for 159K transactions. The apparent seller, Half-Priced Books is a popular used book (records, collectables etc) retail US chain so it's more idea to shop in person as buyer can directly assess the condition. HPB "Ruby" appears to be a separate online entity...

If you would like to Help on our 24th Birthday

I don't claim to know about such things but I appreciate all the work. My last involvement with web hosting (really design) was years ago when I operated an Apache web server for a Wikipedia style (Mediawiki) knowledge base. Every once in awhile the background process "daemon" would go down (no...

    Clegg's trophies

I have to remember that lino (some of which is still in my house) had its golden era. It seems like it would have been a straightforward sales pitch for Clegg and in his more energetic years would have done well.

    Choral LOTSW theme song

My apologies if this has already been posted. I'm not always the biggest fan of the vocal/sung versions but this is very nice. Edit: Crud - it is apparently a preview only if not listening directly on Spotify.

Did Compo's flat come with extended storage?

Watching Concerto For Solo Bicycle (S15 Ep 07) and noticing Compo rolling his bicycle out a door some distance away from his flat (with at least one other residence in between). Was this just done for filming logistics (can't imagine Bill Owen rolling a bike out of the tight entrance and then up...

    Commodore Amiga turns 40

I used the Amiga to incorporate some graphics to my camcorder-based projects using Video Toaster. A revolutionary product for it's time.

So many possibilities now with camera angles. Love it!

    The Tank Museum / Tankfest

We are looking at trying to visit next year but Dorset is not familiar to me (would be our first UK visit!). Harder to look up (at least strategically) accommodations and transportation the way I would more populated areas. Asking inputs for anyone familiar with the best way to get there/around...

Too Many Antiques shows on TV

We have the U.S. version of Antiques Roadshow and a Kentucky-based version of same. So far so good here with not too many. I don't count the shows where they cut the lock on delinquent self-storage units and auction the (often unknown) contents as "antiques" : )

Weather. BBC get it right.... about time too

Checking out their website for a forecast. Very fascinating. https://weather.metoffice.gov.uk/forecast/gcw8z2kke#?nearestTo=Holmfirth%20(Kirklees) For those across the pond curious about all the Offices in the U.K. (as I usually just hear of Home and wasn't aware of Meteorological), this is an...

    The Summerwine.net music thread

Gary Moore's solo work loomed large in my teen years thanks to a good friend's insistence that he and everyone in the car get a thorough GM education. Corridors of Power and Victims of the Future specifically. Complimented a steady diet of Greg Lake solo albums of which GM played.

    Live Aid at 40

My favorite of that era was the Ronnie James Dio-led Hear 'n Aid. Metal was a pariah on the airwaves at the time (funny to say that now) and the effort was obviously not to the same scale of We Are the World but in some ways it sent a stronger message about peoples assumptions.

    Gentle Comedies

Leroy is the level-headed strait man to his uncle yet seems to be the opposite juggling Beth and his other lady friends : )
