A have an odd scheme in mind... because I need something to do now that the festival is over!
Over the weekend, a friend very kindly gifted my a reel of Super16mm film featuring scenes from the Last of the Summer Wine episode "How to Create a Monster" (1997).
Yes, I know the above film can says it is episode two, but I've checked the film itself and it is definitely "How To Create A Monster"!
Thanks to my contacts within the industry, I have the opportunity to have this digitally scanned in 4k resolution. This would mean scenes from the episode could be seen in full widescreen and in full HD for the first time ever.
For copyright reasons, this could not be widely shared, but as an act of preservation I think it is worth doing and if anybody here would be interested in joining the cause then feel free to privately message me on here. The admins can hopefully vouch for my credibility!
The cost of the scan would be around £130 and anyone who would like to contribute towards making it happen would receive private access to the results. Taster clips would be shared in public. So far, we have received pledges for around £85 of the cost.
It's a daft idea, but isn't that what being a Last of the Summer Wine fan is all about?
