I Bought a couple of Keith's prints when he was still on Summer wine,one of Compo which is shown in the link,the other of Nora,They are very good indeed

I really liked Keith in the series, Billy was a cracking character and breathed new life into the show. Was there any reason why he left?

I´d love to see all he drew from Summer Wine characters! Compo certainly looks brilliant! I think the best portrait I have seen so far of him.

As far as i'm aware Chuffer, he left to join Coranation Street mate.

I certainly think he was a brilliant addition to S W, some of his antics left me in tears.

Good info, thanks mate, I don't watch Corrie so had no idea he had moved on to another show. I'm glad it was that rather than because of ilness. Billy was one of my fave characters, it wasn't quite the same after he left.

I agree - Billy Hardcastle was a genuine copper bottomed Barmpot - more of these are needed ...


Keith Clifford was an excellent addition - his merrie men might have put paid to the schemes of the Sheriff of BBC who killed the series!
