A very sad loss another stalwart of British TV over many decades sadly passes away . Who'd of thought given he was a hoofer and top choreographer he is perhaps remembered best as a Captain of a team who partook in what was in essence the parlour game Charades formally known as Give Us a Clue which ran fro several series on ITV prime time TV .

I had a soft spot for Lionel after first watching his Gotcha on the Noel Edmonds tv show… classic.

I had the pleasure of interviewing Lionel Blair for "Last of the Summer Wine: An Appreciation". He was courteous, funny and entertaining and spoke with fondness of his appearance in the series. Fantastic man.

Thanks for the link ferret. That was First class comedy. Considering that the show was on a pier, the appearance of a frogman on the stage was pure genius.

I know a few didn’t like Noel Edmonds Saturday night shows but looking at what has replaced them over the years I think they stand up well!
Some of his gotcha’s were great. I loved the DLT one too.
