For any one who has not heard of them, Yodel are a parcel delivery firm in this country. Formally DHL I think?
Last Friday I got a series of text alerts concerning a parcel which was being tracked. This parcel was going to be delivered that day. The last message was that it had been delivered to my neighbour at number 23 .I had a neighbour who took in parcels for me ( no 23) at my old address so went round to check.
No sign of the parcel with her so I phoned the company number. After some humming and hah ing they told me that the tracking number they had given me belonged to an address in the West Midlands , not the East Midlands where I am. This was a partial relief because I did not remember making any recent orders for anything to be delivered.
Then they sent me another text alert asking me to " rate" my experience . I am afraid I gave them " both barrels " and gave them a totally negative rating on all counts. I finished off by asking for a written explanation of the reason they are using my mobile number on other peoples parcels . I will not be holding my breath for an explanation even though Yodel appear to be on some sort of charm offensive in various parts. >:(

"yodel" in liverpool !!!! [and i don't mean the singin' type !!!!]

Hello dick,i hope you are well,my friend !!!
I have had "dealings" with "yodel",here in liverpool, and i can confirm that their service is "underwhelming" to say the least !!!
I have had parcels thrown over my gate, into the garden, and have had situations, whare i have stayed in to receive my parcel, only to be told that the "gentleman/gentlelady" called, but no one was in?????
They employ people, who use their own cars to deliver their orders, and i don't think there is much of a "structure" regarding their operations.
There does not seem to be any dialogue between the office staff, and the people who deliver.
I hope this "softens the blow",because at least you know that other people ,in different parts of the country are also "suffering".
Best wishes,as always mate !!!.
Keith.

Dick Yodel as a delivery company are not fit for purpose, the staff lie saying they tried to deliver and left a card, no card and when checking with Park security they have not attempted to enter on that day, they would have to sign in and out,Amazon used them a lot a year or so ago and on many occasions they failed to deliver,I suspect they were really cheap for Amazon to use, after many complaint from me to Amazon who took no notice of the problems, any order I placed that failed delivery I would get them to extend my prime membership and when the item arrived I made Amazon take it back,so they lost the sale and it cost them money, it still took them a few months to dump Yodel and start using DPD who always seem to deliver on time, also when they were trading City Link were pretty much on the ball

I even ask companies who I might place an order with who they use for delivery, if they say Yodel I tell them to forget it

Has above, totally useless. If buy anything from eBay, which I don't much now, I just pray they don't use Yodel. They nearly imploded at xmas a friend was waiting for a parcel for over a month they kept sending it to different countries, started off at one end of the country and and finished at the other end, he was in the middle.

Even other delivery agents are little better. Recently I had two Royal Mail notes left stating I was not in on consecutive days.

I was in, owing to my recent foot surgery, but upstairs. Obviously they did not use the door bell as this is designed to sound on all levels but I am unable to hear a knock unless I am immediately behind the front door which is not overly convenient!

And the other day Amazon left a package at my neighbours, once again in but working away on the top floor (three/four minutes to get down two flights of steps) ut no indication in my letterbox!

I have tried delivery to the local collection site: every time I have been told that what I want can not be delivered there!

What with a minimum £20 order on may deliveries to get it free I am using such services less and less. Also I have found that if you are buying a book very often the details given on the web can be deceptive: poor descriptions abound and there are a lot of horror tales around. I am increasingly going back to stores I call into and can insect what I am buying.
