A name from the past with which to ponder - Arthur Haynes. Had forgotten all about him until Network DVd sent me an email commercial covering a new DVD they have produced. He was very popular in the early 1960s and I recall very funny if a bit blue along the Benny Hill line.
 
Used to love watching 'The Arthur Haynes Show' on a Saturday night,when it was worth staying in.
 
Yes Arthur was a very funny man, well worth staying in on Saturday to watch.
 
I was never sure if I liked him or hated him. The husband liked him though.
 
Slightly off topic Sue, it seems that a bloke can talk about "the wife" but to see or hear a woman talk about "the husband" seems odd.Is it an age or gender thing(I ask this as a purely rhetorical question.( no sue not the bowwll)ouch ;) ;D

I always felt that referring to 'the wife' was a bit like 'the car' or 'the shed', a kind of anonymous possession!
