bill owen statue?

a few years ago i thought they were going to put a statue in Holmfirth for Bill Owen? i take it that it never happened! shame if it didn't.

I wonder what happened to the money they collected! I contibuted and have heard nothing since. As to why the statue did appear, I read that the council turned it down.
